Borderlands 2 Save Files Location ( Easy Find )

There are several reasons why you would want to be able to find your save files if you are a Borderlands 2 payer. Among the popular reasons, one is to generate backups that prevent progress loss in case saves are lost or corrupted. These backups are doubled as saves; you can get back to it at a later date for mere nostalgia or to check how much of progress you have made in the game. Certain third-party applications that let you change your game saves also need access to the save files. That is why it is important to know where your saved files are.

But the question should not be why you would want to access your game saves. Rather, it should be how you can access them. For your operating system, you can get help below:

Windows installations of Borderlands 2 have their game save files located in this folder:

%UserProfile%\Documents\My Games\Borderlands 2\WillowGame\SaveData

You can open that folder by pressing WINDOWS + R on your keyboard, pasting the path into the text field, and clicking the OK button.

Inside that folder, you will have at least one folder named after your Steam ID. Within the folder named after your Steam ID, you can find your game saves.

Installations of Borderlands 2 on Mac devices save their games in the following directory:

~/Library/Application Support/Borderlands 2/WillowGame/SaveData

To go to this path:

  1. Open up a Finder window
  2. Press COMMAND + SHIFT + G
  3. Paste the path into the text field and click Go

Just like on the Windows edition of the game, inside the SaveData folder will be a folder named after your Steam ID, within which you can find your Borderlands 2 save files.

Linux installations of Borderlands 2 have their save files in this directory:

~/.local/share/aspyr-media/borderlands 2/willowgame/savedata

Within the savedata folder there will be a folder (at least one) named after your Steam account’s Steam64ID. You saves will be inside this folder.
