Error Message:

"The selected target drive cannot be used because this drive is not reporting a valid serial number."

Possible Reason:

If you encounter this message during Dataplex installation, it may mean that you are using an older version of Dataplex and there is some incompatibility issue between Dataplex and your storage controller or storage device. You may be asked for your help in identifying the problem.

Troubleshooting:

This issue was fixed in Dataplex version v1.2.0.1. If you are encountering this issue, please download the latest version of Dataplex to resolve the issue.

If you are already using the latest version of Dataplex, and you are still encountering this issue, please follow the instructions to generate diagnostic information for you system and email the results to [email protected] along with a description of your motherboard (make, model, etc) and the problem you're encountering, so we may help you troubleshoot the issue.
